In this year's edition of the SHARPER European Researcher's Night held for the first time at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, we were part of the activity organized by the Department of Medicine and Surgery called Escape Lab - A Challenge in Biomedical Research (Escape Lab: sfida alla ricerca biomedica).
In this activity, participants, organized into small teams, will complete a series of activities, puzzles, collaborative games, and simulated laboratory procedures inspired by the real-life activities of the department's research groups. At each activity, participants collect a puzzle piece that make up a complete puzzle souvenir (total 9 pieces + frame) to take home with them.
This year our activity involved participants matching the mosquito "nicknames" and the diseases they carry to their scientific name and image in order to derive a password. Participants with the correct password obtain the puzzle piece and proceed on with the course.
